SIG Sauer has expanded its SIG516 G3 line with two shorter configurations, an 11.5-inch pistol and an 11.5-inch short-barreled rifle (SBR), according to a September 16, 2026 report from AmmoLand Shooting Sports News.
AmmoLand describes the new models as more compact options alongside the existing 16-inch SIG516 G3 rifle.
Stated features
Per the AmmoLand report, the shorter versions keep the main features of the G3 platform:
- An adjustable short-stroke piston operating system
- Ambidextrous controls
- Dual charging handles
The report presents the 11.5-inch models as carrying over these features from the rifle rather than introducing a new operating design.
